The substack platform has many pluses, but the ability to deal in depth with subjects like these is not one of them. The articles at gordianknotbook.com are far more complete and properly referenced. But for those who really want to understand what happened to nuclear power, you need to read the Flop book. Here's a hint. The 1970's oil crises were all important.

The order of operations is strange. I'm beginning to think it might have been closely connected to sunshine laws being passed in the early 1970s for congress. Could be wrong, but the timing is suspicious.
